“TRULY, MADLY BAROQUE” – The return of RED PRIEST

Seaton Music’s 76th Classical Season Concert

Following the huge success of their visit to Seaton last season, we have invited RED PRIEST  to return.

Red Priest’s Truly Madly Baroque programme is acclaimed as a high-energy, virtuosic, and theatrical performance that reinterprets Baroque classics with immense flair and wit. Critics and audiences describe the show as “electrifying” and “baroque with attitude,” featuring rapid recorder changes, improvisatory styles, and engaging, often humorous, presentations.

“Their program, titled “Truly, Madly, Baroque,” pays tribute to the great composer Vivaldi, known as the “red priest.” The group’s leader, Piers Adams, showcased his mastery of the recorder. His energetic playing impressed the crowd and may have inspired many to reconsider the instrument they once played in school. Adams explained that the recorder was a staple of baroque music. When the quartet began their performance, their harmony and teamwork were immediately clear. The quartet’s technical skill and energy overwhelmed the audience. Their ability to memorize and perform such a wide range of pieces was remarkable. At the end of their concert, Red Priest received an extended and well-deserved ovation.”  (Jackie Warner, IoW County Press.)
