The recent Seaton Music concert at St. Andrew’s Church, Colyton was regarded by those in the audience to be an outstanding success. While not the sellout of the March concert the wonderful performance by young Oboist Ewan Millar and pianist Tomos Boyles certainly lifted the spirits and must have softened the hardest of hearts.
Music from an eclectic range of composers such as Britten, Clara Schumann, Mendelssohn, Bach, Ravel, Barber, Lili Boulanger, Brahms and Peter Facer whose piece Manhattanhenge certainly gave the musicians, especially the Oboist Ewan Millar, a challenge as the piece is known for its evocative and amazing qualities. We also saw from both their skill and artistry in the arrangements to suit their respective instruments. From what the audience observed these two young musicians are certainly on an upward trajectory and we in Seaton Music were lucky to experience their musicianship at first hand.

The Seaton & District Music Club Annual General Meeting was held during the interval of this concert.
